Marc Crosas is focused

Crosas: I’m in with a shout

MARC CROSAS is ready to respond to Tony Mowbray’s call for new leaders to step forward to fill the void left by Gary Caldwell and Barry Robson.

The Spaniard believes it is up to everyone at the club to make their voice heard and help the Parkhead side climb out of their current results slump.

That recovery has to start tomorrow at Cappielow, a ground about which Crosas admits he knows next to nothing.

What the 22-year-old does understand is there is no hiding place for anyone in Hoops, and that it is up to every one of Mowbray’s men to stand up and be counted.

Crosas said: “There are a lot of young guys here. We have played a lot of games, not only for Celtic but for other teams.
“So I think we need to take that responsibility, and maybe I have to step out and take more responsibility than I had before.

“Every man is how he is. I don’t think because another man leaves you need to change. I’ll maybe take more responsibility on the pitch, but I’m not going to change how I am as a person.”

Crosas provided the cover for Aiden McGeady to attack Falkirk from midfield at the weekend, and he hopes the Republic of Ireland star will be a team-mate for a long time despite speculation about him leaving.

“Aiden’s maybe the best player we’ve got, and that says everything,” he said.

“He can give something different to the team, and you always want the best players in your team, so it’s important for us to keep Aiden.”
Crosas prefers to focus on keeping Celtic in the cup, and knows Morton will smell blood. But he denied there was any extra pressure: “We are Celtic and we need to win all our games and we need to win tomorrow.”
